Region 7 presented promising practices at the January 2015 Quarterly Meeting:
Mariposa – Artists in the Schools is an arts education pilot program and partnership between the Mariposa County Arts Council and the Mariposa County Office of Education to place trained teaching artists into all 5th grade classrooms. Tulare – Tulare County Office of Education provided information on several programs and resources, including the CHOICES prevention program, the La Sierra Military Academy and the SCICON Outdoor Education Program. Click here for additional information.
Kings – Truancy Intervention and Prevention Program (TIPP): Representatives from the Kings County Office presented on how they work with the District Attorney, SARBs and Behavioral Health offices to leverage Proposition 63 dollars to reduce truancy rates in the area.
